K3CWP, Carmine, Centre County EC attended a meeting of the ECs of the ARRL Western Pennsylvania Section. The meeting was held in Brookville, PA on Saturday August 15, 2009. N3SPW, John called the meeting to discuss a number of items related to amateur radio and emergency preparedness in the section.

Items of discussion included:

• The 2009 Simulated Emergency Test (SET) scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 9:00 AM to Noon.
• A short ARES drill
• Discussion and demonstration of Narrow Band Emergency Messaging System (NBEMS) by Harry, W3YJ
• Training for amateurs involved in emergency communications with served agencies.

This was a good chance for the ECs to meet face to face and discuss these items.  More information will be posted here as I get the opportunity.
