Amateur Radio Operators Provide Real Time Snowfall/Weather Reports to PEMA during winter storm Harper
Amateur radio operators from all over Pennsylvania and a couple neighboring states provide reports to PEMA Headquarters on HF Saturday and Sunday, January 19 and 20. PEMA broadcast the following after the event:
Thank you to everyone who helped during the Jan 19 thu 20th Winter Weather Event. We received over 427 reports from 53 different counties within the state. This map show the snowfall averages for the counties based on the reports we received and the pins indicate the zip codes that were contacted. The information you send is valuable, these on the ground reports helps us collaborate other information we are receiving from additional sources and help in decision making processes. Your hard work does not go unrecognized and is greatly appreciated thank you for your continued support of the ACS program.
