The APRS Special Interest Group of the Nittany Amateur Radio Club met on Wednesday evening 11/3/2010. In addition to Centre County amateurs several Blair County amateurs attended again.
Carmine, K3CWP demonstrated his portable APRS receiving station put together from mostly used or re purposed equipment. The equipment is carried in two soft cases that permit it to be picked up and deployed very quickly.
Other discussions focused on different things APRS could do for amateurs and the public.
The next meeting will be held in January 2011. The group consensus was that avoiding the holidays and hunting season would be easier on all the participants.
