Over the past several months Karl Hosterman, K3ARL, one of the owners of Centre Communications in Centre County has significantly improved APRS coverage in Central Pennsylvania at his own expense.

Karl has placed digipeaters near the following towns:

• Lewistown
• Altona (experimental)
• Bedford
• Brookville

The Altoona digi provided much needed coverage for the Multiple Sclerosis Society Keystone Country Ride on July 24 and 25.  Allowing participating amateur radio operators to track elements of the ride in real time.

Amateur radio in Central Pennsylvania owes Karl and Centre Communications a significant thank you for his efforts.
